WHAT MONSTROSITY DID I JUST READ? How dare Brandon Sanderson write this novel. This was way too good. The Final Empire by Brandon Sanderson is impeccable. You should have seen me-- tears. Just tears and more tears.

The Final Empire wasn't what I expected it to be. It took all of my expectations, crushed them, then handed me a sack of coins. The novel revolves around a group of Allomancers who are people with superhuman abilities. Generally, Allomancers are able to ingest, then "burn" metals, drawing power from them. There are ten (eleven) metals that are introduced in this book, eight basic and two rare. Each metal has a different power, thus "burning" a different one will grant you a different skill.

This book was really great. I adored the characters and their interactions. Also, the world was introduced in an understandable fashion. Kudos to Brandon Sanderson. The Final Empire was intense, action-packed, emotional, and almost a little eerie.

Why can't I be a Mistborn? I want a cloak.
